Celebration

Celebration event title banner.

The Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA&D) and the Friends of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) cordially invite you to attend the Annual Celebration Gala!

As the UW’s signature event to support diversity, equity and inclusion, Celebration showcases inspiring community leadership, academic excellence and our remarkable students. Here we create connections within our community of corporate partners, individuals, philanthropists, sovereign nations and with our students. By celebrating the Odegaard Award and OMA&D Spark Award recipients, we honor inspirational community members who are examples to us all.

The event will recognize the 2024 Charles E. Odegaard Award, the Inaugural OMA&D Spark Award and our EOP Recognition Scholars. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner, a lively Husky-themed auction and a Raise-the-Paddle program! All funds raised at Celebration benefit OMA&D’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) for American Indian/Alaska Native, economically disadvantaged, first-generation, and underrepresented minority students, and students formerly in foster care. EOP serves 6,500+ students each year.

Register Today!

Guests at our event will hear directly from students about the impact of scholarships and EOP programming on their overall success and Husky Experience. Each year through partnerships and giving, we raise scholarship and discretionary funding to support American Indian/Alaska Native, first-generation, low-income and underrepresented minority students, and students who were formerly in foster care.

Be sure to register for the event ASAP in order to reserve your spot, enjoy drinks and appetizers, dance to the music of Chapter 5, savor your dinner and spend some time in community celebrating the excellence of EOP Recognition Scholars and honoring the Honorable Chairman Leonard Forsman and Mariama Suwaneh as this year’s award recipients.

CAN’T ATTEND?

You can still support OMA&D’S Educational Opportunity Programs!

Your gift in lieu of attendance will support our students, and we look forward to seeing you at another event throughout the year. Make your gift at our Celebration Giving Page.
